Jessi Runyan, Owner
Jessi Runyan
Wildwood Environmental was born out of a profound respect for nature and a dedication to preserving it for future generations. Our founder, Jessi Runyan, has always been passionate about the outdoors. After earning her BS in Environmental Science from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, Jessi began her career as a Water Quality Specialist for the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. Her time sampling the pristine rivers and streams of western Montana solidified her commitment to environmental management.
With experience working for small consulting firms, a Washington port, and a large electric utility line contractor, Jessi saw the need for a more personalized, client-focused approach to environmental compliance. In 2015, she took the plunge and founded Wildwood Environmental, bringing her expertise and passion for environmental protection to contractors and homeowners across Oregon and Washington.
Francesca Shackleford
Francesca Shackleford
Wildwood Environmental is thrilled to have Environmental Specialist, Francesca Shackleford, on our team. Her passion for protecting natural resources began in high school when wildfires struck her hometown, sparking a desire to help communities prepare for and mitigate environmental challenges. Early in her career, Francesca worked extensively in environmental research, focusing on air quality, water quality, and industrial emissions. From her time at a water resources management utility, where she developed continuous water quality monitoring methods and analyzed sewer gas emissions using FTIR spectroscopy, Francesca embraced hands-on research that deepened her understanding of pollution prevention. She holds a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) credential and OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training, ensuring she meets the highest industry practice standards.
Today, Francesca supports Wildwood Environmental’s clients by crafting erosion and stormwater control plans and performing site inspections to keep projects on track and in compliance. Her innovative, proactive approach—and deep respect for the ecosystems she helps protect—drives her to anticipate potential challenges and present creative solutions. As someone who values environmental stewardship, Francesca finds fulfillment in overseeing construction activities, witnessing her behind-the-scenes planning come to life in the field, and forging strong partnerships. She plans to expand her expertise with GIS, modeling, and permitting for a broader range of environmental concerns. She hopes to complete a graduate program to stay at the forefront of cutting-edge solutions.
